| This
is a smaller instrument based on a picture in the Trinity College
Apocolypse c.1250-60. The body is English lime, with yew and ebony
fittings. The combination of the size and materials of this instrument
mean that it is very light and resonant but surprisingly strident. It
works well with an almost flat bridge meaning that the player must
always bow at least two strings together. It can also be built to allow
single string playing. This instrument has a string length of 335mm. |
