This is an instrument made to my own design, but based on a number of pictures from the period. It has three or four strings; two drones and one or two chantarelles (melody strings). The tangents that press against the strings can be changed to give a flat or sharp leading note and third. There is, of course, the option of having as much or as little carving and decoration as desired.
