I'm currently working on two bosch hurdy gurdys using figured English walnut. One of these is going to have more modern fittings including metal tangents and built in amplification.

Also on the go is a treble viol for my children. The model is an instrument in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford made by Juan Maria of Brescia in around 1560. The front is carved and has an integral 'bass bar' (left in the carving not added later) The back does not have a soundpost plate and the front is realtively thick so I am presuming that the original did not have a soundpost. It is remarkable how this instrument has survived in the condition it has for nearly 450 years. I'm using some mullberry wood for the body and service wood for the neck.
